What is the International Bilingual School at Science Park ?


 

National Experimental High School refers to the schools established by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)for the development of the Science Parks. Bilingual instruction is the key aspect of the International Bilingual Schools at Science Parks.

What is the School for International Residents ?


 

Schools for International Residents refer to the schools established in Taiwan which specialize in recruiting foreign students. There are various types of Schools for International Residents in Taiwan, including Japanese schools, Korean schools, European schools, and American schools etc.

 
 

What is the difference between “Public School” and “Private School”?

 

Public School refers to the schools established by the Taiwan Central Government, Municipal Governments, and County/ City Governments. And Private School refers to the schools established by the schools’ founders in accordance with the private school laws.

 
 

In addition to national holidays, what other holidays are there in Taiwan’s educational system?

 

In general, the school year in Taiwan starts around late August for K-12 and September for Colleges and Universities. Both finish around the end of June. In addition to national holidays with Saturdays and Sundays off, you can arrange extracurricular activities in winter vacation (normally falls in late January to mid-February which coincides with the Chinese New Year’s holiday) and Summer vacation - for K-12, this usually starts July first and ends the last week of August. For Colleges and Universities, it usually starts Mid-June and ends MidSeptember.

You can search for kindergarten information at the Early Childhood Education (ECE) website. You can search by location, kindergarten name, type of kindergarten and contact the kindergarten via their website or hotline.

 

What qualifications do I need if I want to apply for International Bilingual School at Science Park?

 

Enrollment of each International Bilingual School at Science Park is independent. All qualified applicants need to pass the Entrance Assessment (in English) for enrollment. Admission qualifications for schools are different. If you need more information, please browse admission qualifications on the appropriate school website or contact the registrar of the school.
